ZapSpot, INC. Announces Sponsorships by Leading Companies: CNET NETWORKS, iWon,
and others
ZapSpot,
Inc. takes companies beyond traditional web and e-mail sponsorships
and into an exciting new world of sponsored viral software
applications that create persistent, ongoing desktop exposure.
New York, NY,
October 21, 2000 - ZapSpot,
Inc., one of the world’s fastest growing online games and
applications companies, has recently finalized broad sponsorships
with several industry leaders including CNET Networks™
(www.cnet.com),
iWon™
(www.iWon.com), and Simply Bargains™
(www.simplybargains.com).
Each sponsorship announced will leverage the technology of ZapSpot
applications and the loyalty of ZapSpot’s user base in order to
reap substantial rewards for both ZapSpot and its partners.
CNET, (NASDAQ: CNET) is a global media company that produces a branded
Internet network, computer product database and television and radio
programming for both consumers and businesses. CNET and
ZapSpot have agreed to formalize a multi-faceted distribution and
sponsorship partnership.
ZapSpot games have already appeared on CNET’s industry-leading
www.download.com™
site, but under this new arrangement CNET will be the
exclusive initial distributor of all ZapSpot entertainment content.
Additionally, CNET has signed on to sponsor an upcoming ZapSpot
title: Hallomeenies™, which will be released in honor of the upcoming
Halloween holiday.
Victor
Cho, EVP of Marketing and Business Development at ZapSpot says,
“we’re very excited to have CNET come on board like this. Their brand and reputation both inside and outside the industry is
real validation of the ZapSpot platform and its value to a whole
range of businesses. We hope that this is only the beginning
of our relationship with CNET.”
iWon,
a privately-held company, is a leading destination Internet portal
which combines world-class search, content and functionality with
the Internet’s largest guaranteed cash giveaway. iWon has become a
premium sponsor for an upcoming ZapSpot release, Mudslingers,
which is a fun homage to the dirt of politics in the current
presidential campaign.
“Since
its launch, iWon has been a consistent member of the elite top
twenty web properties. Having them come on board and sponsor a
game is very exciting for us,” says Cho.
Finally,
Simple Bargains, a privately-held e-commerce firm, agreed today to
sign on to sponsor ZapSpot’s Christmas release, tentatively titled
X-MAS: Santa’s Rein™, a fun spoof on last summer’s popular movie
X-Men™.
“The
Simply Bargains team was very excited about the potential to
leverage both ZapSpot technology and its loyalty in order to
increase its own brand recognition and sales as we move into the
crucial holiday season. Based on our latest numbers, which
point to a quickly growing base of users and a huge amount of
monthly time being spent on ZapSpot games (an average of 120 minutes
per user per month), I don’t think that they'll be
disappointed,” says Mr. Cho.
