ZapSpot, INC. Announces Syndication Partnerships with Top Entertainment AND DOWNLOAD Portals

Comet Systems, Inc. and Uproar, Inc. partner with ZapSpot technologies and content to create viral desktop marketing campaigns.

New York, NY, August 19, 2000 - ZapSpot, Inc., a privately held New York City-based company, announces that Comet Systems download, and Uproar, Inc., one of the top entertainment destination portals on the Internet, have partnered with ZapSpot to use ZapSpot's marketing and software distribution technologies to virally extend the reach of their networks.

As part of the partnership and marketing agreements, ZapSpot will provide both companies with special, customized versions of its proven, play-tested software titles which each company will distribute to their respective customers using various electronic promotional vehicles. Because each application will be fully enabled with ZapSpot's Desktop Companion, users that receive these applications will be able to install them to their machines and share them with their friends with a single click.

Once a Desktop Companion is installed on a user's machine, it creates a persistent, ongoing communication channel directly to that user. Both Comet Systems and Uproar will be able to use that channel to advertise products, drive customers back to their Web-sites, and more.

"We are incredibly pleased to be working with Comet Systems and Uproar on these campaigns," says Dan Frumin, President and CEO of ZapSpot, Inc. "Comet Cursor is one of the most successful software downloads of all time, with over thirty-million downloads. And Uproar is consistently ranked as one of the top entertainment properties on the net. The fact that both companies have recognized the value of creating a persistent desktop presence using our technology in addition to their standard services demonstrates the value of our product offerings, and we are eager to work with them on an ongoing basis."
